About Chaco

Chaco is a wonderful companion and a true “people dog.” She walks well on a leash, travels comfortably in a car, and knows commands such as sit, stay, wait, and down. Her desire to please her owners is evident in her behavior. However, she has decided that she does not like cats and should not be in a home with any feline friends.

Chaco is kennel-trained but is accustomed to having her people around most of the day, so she usually only spends nights in the kennel. She is house-trained and has impeccable house manners. She knows to stay off the furniture and enjoys her dog bed. Chaco will let you know when she needs to go outside, and she is not destructive when left loose in the house. While she has not used a doggy door, she is very intelligent and would likely catch on quickly. When getting into the SUV, she will wait patiently in the back until her leash is attached and you tell her it’s okay to jump out.

Chaco loves taking walks and going on long road trips, and she has even mastered using elevators. She does not bark when the doorbell rings or when she hears people in the hallway of hotels. She finds it hard not to greet newcomers at the door since she loves all humans. She enjoys being near her people and often sleeps at your feet while you work. Chaco would make a great addition to any family looking for a playful, loyal, obedient, and friendly dog

If you’re interested in meeting Chaco, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application.
