Julie Hart Collage Image

Julie Hart is the artist who created the paintings that are on the website banner and she is also a PACA volunteer!

About her work, she says:
I capture reality in my pet portraits, landscape and still life oil paintings with vibrant color and interesting textures by mixing impressionism with abstraction to form my own style of representational art. Regardless of my subject, I use color, composition and impasto and sgraffito techniques to express my vision. My studio is in Albuquerque, New Mexico after being in the Washington DC area for several years.

She paints pet portraits and has wonderful pieces in her "Rescued!" series.

I started painting dogs and cats when I fostered my first dog in 2009. I enjoyed it immensely and realized I could capture the soul of the animal in paint. I have started painting rescued animals from my travels and here in Virginia to tell their stories of triumph over neglect, abuse, and hardship. I also want to raise awareness about dog and cat adoption and the plight of many animals in this country.

She is also the owner and trainer of Hart to Heart Canine Training, LLC.
